Arizona is known as a walk-thru state. This means a license by endorsement can be obtained from the Arizona State Board of Nursing in as little 48 hours, by going in person to their offices in Phoenix and providing that all paperwork and necessary documents have been presented and filled-out correctly.
Arizona is also a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact. The Nurse Licensure Compact allows a nurse licensed in one “home” compact state to practice in a party compact state without seeking an additional nursing license. For more information on Compact States click here.
Current Compact States are: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin.
